EN - Making of "The Mirrorless Hero - Shootout with the past"

Jan and Birgit shooting with a mirroless camera

By Thomas Ludwig
Back in August 2013 we were planning to shoot a promo video for our unique CAMSLINGER bags for mirrorless cameras. One of the major benefits of the bags is the fast and one-handed access to your mirrorless cam. So the idea for the video was to tell a story about a shootout between a mirrorless camera guy with a CAMSLINGER and a DSLR guy with a messenger style bag. I was so lucky to find widely experienced director Jan Wagner and camerawoman Birgit Möller for this job.

EN – A photo walk with Thomas Leuthard

The master at work
By Thomas Ludwig
On the first weekend of April I had the chance to meet up with Thomas Leuthard, well known street photographer from Switzerland. Back in February we had a first contact while I was eMailing him to present the Camslingers. Sometimes one word leads to another and so we met up in Zurich for talking about street photography and to have a photo walk with other photo nerds.

EN - A little hack to make size adjustment easier

During the size adjustment of the Camslinger it may happen that the velcro sticks together when you did not want it to. To prevent this there is a little trick. All you need is a pair of scissors, a large sheet of paper (ysterdays newspaper for example) and the camera you want to adjust the Camslinger to.

1: A 30 cm long (for the Camslinger 160 a 45cm long) and 7 cm wide strip of the newspaper cut.

2: Open the Velcro fasteners and place the camera on the inner part.

3: Place the paper strip around the Velcro on the inner part and close the Camslinger again.

4: Press the inner and outer shell together and pull out the paper.

5: Take the camera out, press inner Velcro closures and the Camslinger is adjusted to your cam.

The laurels for this go to CJ from Photoscala where the trick is described in the review of the Camslinger bags.

Have fun

EN - Always ready – The CAMSLINGER Concept

By Thomas Ludwig
To put your mirrorless camera and lenses in a bag is one thing. To use a CAMSLINGER means to use a camera bag in the sense of a concept and it'll give a fresh touch to the way you are using your photo gear. This post will give you an idea about the new possibilities of the concept behind CAMSLINGER camera bags.

Free upper body and comfortable wearing
When wearing a CAMSLINGER your upper body is free just as if you wouldn't wear a cam bag at all. In this way you can take along your cam with the feeling of more freedom as if you would have a backpack or a messenger style bag. Your gear is also very comfortable to wear for many hours and it is protected. The cam just doesn't disturb you anymore while carrying around.

Fast ,one handed access
This is a feature not to be underestimated. With a CAMSLINGER you can quickly grab your cam with one hand. And if you don't use a lens cap - what is no problem if you have a UV filter on your lens - you can also aim and shoot a photo with one hand. Have your little kid on the left arm and want to make a selfie? Just do it! Doing outdoor sports like biking or climbing? Just do a one handed shot if you like to. Out for street shooting and have a fresh coffee in your hand while the photo of your lifetime comes along? Just grab your cam out of your CAMSLINGER, have your coffee and take your photo. When not in use, the cam is protected in its pouch. You can also easily turn the bag on your back and no one would ever see that you are wearing a cam.
